Cleanliness they say is next to Godliness, how true. One of the main things you should do as a Portable Grasscutter Farm owner is to ensure that you keep your Grasscutter house clean. From my experience, Grasscutters are hardy animals and don’t die easily like Chickens, turkeys and Catfish. But to sustain this tempo, you need to clean the house at least once a day.
I do this early in the morning as early 6am, but whenever i wake up later than then, i clean the cage. This is easy for me because i designed The Portable cages in a way that ensures i do this fast and stress free.
A look at the image below shows the type of innovation i did on the Portable cage…
This innovation is called the Drop System. First, like in the image above, the Grasscutter eats pineapple crown, the remnants and her dungs drop through the wire net and drop on the zinc. All i do is when i wake up, i simply use a broom to sweep out the few remaining food particles so that they drop too or i sweep them out. Next i pull out the zinc and empty it into an empty rice bag which i use to fertilize my Vegetable garden and also sell to corn farmers in my neighbourhood.
This system since i started using it has made my operations more effective and efficient. I started my farm with a portable cage with planks for bedding. But the disadvantage was that when i come to sweep the cage, the planks would be drenched with Grasscutter urine forcing me to wash the cage twice a week. This made the planks to become weak fast, forcing me to spend money and time changing them frequently.
But with this Drop System, Grasscutter Farming just moved to a whole new level.
